let us remain critical because we care. don't let this amazing accomplishment and celebration overshadow the fact that there is much work to be done. let us see what he delivers.

i'm not a huge political junkie and i am probably not up to date on many issues, but with this huge presidential election, i've found myself in the middle of several political debates with strangers, friends, and family. i didn't like mcCain initially but i didn't really have a reason why. as i began to learn more about him, i realized that he is not such a horrible person. he's gone through some unimaginable experiences in his lifetime. that being said, he did not have the best plans for the dismal state of our economy. mr. mcCain is a poor planner. 

i can't help but wonder if things would have been different if mcCain had made a wiser decision in regards to his vp choice. because sarah and her clothes, sarah and her lack of experience, sarah and her abuse of power, sarah and her getting "punked" by radio hosts, sarah and her...whatever; it hurt mcCain's campaign. so, yes, things would have been different, but i think obama would have still won. she was entertaining for the moment, but i will be glad when she dissappears from the national spotlight and remains nothing but a memory, albeit a funny one. remember that one time that crazy lady, who wanted to get rid of a woman's right to her own body, ran for vp? man, that was a good one....

during the craziness of election time, the communal bashing of republicans, and hilarious snl sketches, i forget that these politicians are human and they have chosen to put themselves out there for judgement, ridicule, and criticism because they think that they can lead this nation into a better place. what pressure. what stress. what strength. 

for that reason i will try and stop bashing sarah palin and her backwards thinking and instead admire her for having the balls to accept the vp nomination and go through the craziness known as presidential elections. =]
